This is possibly the most critical part of the process. If you are not connected with your quality control team on the ground in China you will fail. Without an open line of communication and a team that understands your needs that can work directly with the factory to insure these needs are met there is little hope for your project to get off the ground. Remember, this starts with the raw materials so don’t wait to see the finished product to see if it’s OK. That may be too late.
Your quality control team is responsible for the following;
Factory related duties
- Production sample approval
- In Line production Inspections
- Pre-shipment Inspections and Reports
- Corrective Action Report
- Packaging and shipping evaluation
- Container loading inspections
- Coordinate problem identification and resolution
- Develop alternative methods to increase productivity
Cost saving opportunities- Alternative material possibilities
- Alternative Manufacturing Processes
- Shipping and packaging options
Sometimes if you are sourcing your product through an agent they will also include the inspection of the product in their fee.
QC in China can be tricky and you need to make sure whoever is doing your QC does not have other motives. I have been seen inspectors get paid off by the factories to pass the product inspections. This is not good for you.
